Only one today, and I don’t have much to say about her.
3 November 1865
Birth of Elizabeth McPhail Highet at Galston, Ayrshire, who married David Findlay Strachan in 1886 so she isn’t a “blood” ancestor. Hence I haven’t researched her but have included her due the wonderful names of her parents: she was the daughter of Durham Highet and Euphemia Morton. She is also the only one I can find who was born on 3 November.
I love those names, perhaps an attempt to continue a dying surname? SD
Aren’t they great. I love surnames as middle names, which is very common in Scotland. My sister has McCrae as her middle name, and one of my cousins has Fraser has his middle name, but I just got Margaret – I’ve always envied them!
